NIKE MOTIVATION

Some of you may know and some may not, but I was a very active growing up and continued that through my uni years. Sports, dance, you name it I was enrolled until 3 years ago when I had an accident, that left me with a broken collarbone, a dislocated shoulder, and traumatized for a while. I thought all I could do from then on was to live in pain, suck it up and spend my time between sessions of chiro and physio.

I had come to terms that my active life was over. Such a defeatist attitude - I know. It took me three years to get it together again, and feel inspired by the Nike logo "Just Do It", along with their motivational twitter feed. So now I am back at it, I will probably have a lot of lows and pain, but you gotta start somewhere. I already feel so happy not to only use my sports gear for fashion, but also for their real purpose. Do you actually wear your gear for sports or just for fashion?

  5. These photos are so editorial! You look stunning in them! :-) This is such a great way to style a sporty tee, and you may have convinced me to try a Nike tee too, hehe. Thanks for sharing your story; it must have been hard to not do something you love for a while. However, what is meant to be will always find a way, and I'm sure that you will be able to rebuild your strength and once again get back into your active life! Often times the hardest part is just taking the initative to start from scatch again, but think about how amazing it will feel to finally be back doing something that makes you happy!

  6. Beautiful outfit! I hope your return to the land of fitness goes well. I haven't done any exercise for over a year now, too, due to an injury and am still very cautious about it, so absolutely understand your fears and concerns. x

  11. Such a shame to hear about your accident. I had to change career and still struggle with many things because I have RSI in my hand and wrist, and recently had another wrist injury. I work as an artist now, but even painting for a whole day leaves me in pain for days. However I will not give up doing what I love :) Glad to hear you are being inspired.

  15. Great looking jacket! I tend to wear yoga clothing to garden and around the house when I'm feeling lazy. Of course I do wear it to yoga as well.
I'm quite sure Nike's slogan "Just do it" has inspired many of us. :)
