If you follow me on twitter you would know that I have been talking about making Christmas cards. I always try to make my own cards no matter what the occasion; I am not just trying to save money, trust me it would be easier and less time consuming to just buy them. I like the creativity and thought that goes behind creating a unique card for someone.
This "Mini Card Collection" was inspired by the Bauhaus Art movement. This art is not for everyone, some say it is too simplistic but I find a lot of inspiration in it. If I made these using Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator it would have been 100 times easier and faster, but call me old school. I just love the pleasure of sitting down, with paper, ruler, pencil and going for it. I want to continue to use this blog as a creative outlet and to share ideas, not just Fashion.
so awesome! ill be making my cards this year too. but i think i might do it the photoshop way. lol

diversify! love your cards. i've started my own line of birthday cards (as you can see from my mom's wall maybe), copying photos of dogs in birthday hats in intricate detail.
ReplyDeleteonly 9 more days until i see you!!! can't wait <3
Love the idea behind the project. A lot! And also using analogue mediums is sometimes so relaxing and refreshing. The cards turned out very pretty! www.moiminnie.blogspot.com x

These are gorgeous & what a lovely idea too! I'd be thrilled to get such a unique looking card instead of the usual store brought ones! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree as well, there's nothing better than sitting down & drawing by hand!
love the simplicity of modernism, such a refreshment in this age of crisis of abundance!

I really like this idea. Such cards could be all-occasion.
ReplyDeleteI tried to find simple Christmas cards that were still a bit festive. Gave up and purchased the plainest ones I could find. Next year, maybe will make them..
