BASICS

WEARING: No Brand Bomber, Topshop Crop Top Sweater, Jaggar The Label T-shirt, J Brand Jeans (DIY), Vanessa Mooney Bracelet, American Apparel Clutch.

I read the book "How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are", it is a very easy read. Normally this genre is not my type of book (I am more into classics), but my friend Aina mentioned that a lot of what the authors wrote, reminded her of me. I was intrigued and decided to give it a go. She was right, many topics were very similar to my life choices and personality in general. I never knew my behaviour was so "Parisian". It is a book of common sense, highlighting natural beauty, cultural knowledge, empowerment for women, and touches on our fragility with good humour, in an easy tone. I recommend it. Here I am with no make up, natural hair, black clothes with minimal accessories and my sunglasses. Slight variations of this style make up for my everyday wear, with self-assurance and a touch of fragility to face a new challenge everyday.
PS. My favourite look from the Oscars was from Cate Blanchett. A sophisticated minimal gown from Margiela by John Galliano, paired with a Tiffany statement necklace, if you missed it check it here.

BACK IN BLACK

WEARING: Carin Wester Coat, American Apparel Fisherman Sweater, No Brand Handkerchief, J Brand Jeans, Adidas Gazelle Sneakers, THP Shop Rings & Ray-Ban Sunnies.

It is no secret that my favourite type of outfit is a head-to-toe black combo. I often hear comments such as "Oh you wear black because it's easy" or "Black is boring"... I have to disagree with both statements, after years of wearing all black clothes, I have come to realize that it takes as much skill to put a great black outfit together as any colourful one. It is not boring if you feel your best in it, and if you can add your own personal touch to it, all the better. I am always drawn to black, I have no interest in playing with colours; I would rather think about mixing textures, layering and accessorizing a black ensemble. Do you think all black is boring & easy?
PS. I am obsessed with my new Adidas Gazelle sneakers, so comfortable and they elevate any outfit.

WINTER ATTIRE

WEARING: Mango Coat, Adidas Top, Get Plenty Jeans, Tibi Mules,  Malibu Bag, Polysemy Jewellery & American Apparel Socks.

The winter has been hard, lots of rain, which makes it hard to blog. Any time there is sunshine it is time to shoot, walk around and hang with friends. This weekend was a busy one, we had my boyfriend's sister visiting and it was such a good time: catching up, drinking, and arguing over our favourite tv shows and movies. I am looking forward to this coming week, I am shooting a top collection, with the amazing Carmin Edwards. I can't wait to get it done and share the results with all of you. Fashion week is coming up, and as usual I wish I could be there but I am not. I will however watch it and keep updated with all the shows, thank God for the internet. Who is going and who are you excited to see?

HOW TO WEAR WHITES

WEARING: Topshop Coat, Zara Sweater, DIY Cheap Monday Denim, Superstar Adidas, THP Shop Cuffs & Twist Rings, Wylden Parallel Ring and No Brand Handkerchief.

As much as I love black, sometimes I feel like going all out in the opposite colour. Nothing is fresher than all white. If you think white is just for Spring and Summer, think again. White works in winter as well as any other season, it uplifts your mood on the coldest of days. I paired this crispy white DIY denim with a cozy white sweater and coat for a mild contrast in textures. The all white look has been trending for a while, but to me a head to toe look in any colour is a classic, regardless if it is "in" or not. If you are not fully ready to go all white I recommend to add an accessory of a different colour, in here I used the handkerchief. It is good to try something new from time to time, outside our comfort zones (in fashion and in life).
