MUST-HAVE: ACNE STUDIOS CANADA SCARF

The immensely popular Acne Studios Canada Scarf is hands down a "must-have" winter accessory. It was sold out everywhere for almost two months! I finally got my hands on one, thanks to my dear friend Terry who gifted it to me recently. I have to admit that I love it; and come on, what's not to love?! Black goes with everything, and the 100% virgin lambswool keeps you warm while being stylish. It can also be worn as a shawl because of the sizing. The price is steep but it is worth it, the luxurious feel of the wool is soft and comfortable. Acne is known for it's quality and timeless style, I am already planning to get a shade of grey for next winter!

Here is also a sneak peek of my new couch! I am working on redecorating and re-doing my living room. Once it is all done I will be sure to share. I have spent a lot of time researching the right pieces, ones that I want and in a price bracket that I can afford! Getting this project done has taken more time than I anticipated, but it has also been much more fun than I expected.

ADROGYNEOUS

WEARING: Splendid Cashmere Sweater, Melissa Araujo Diana LS Top, Acne Studios Trousers, Cluse Watch, Dior Sunglasses and Vans Old Skool Sneakers

You can blame it on having been raised with two brothers, surrounded by skate and surfer friends; but I have always had a pre-disposition to feel my best while wearing androgynous pieces and sneakers. This was very much to my mother’s disappointment, who despite her best efforts (think pink and flower pattern everything) was not able to influence me to change.
I was one of the few girls to have boys as homies and to be part of their "boys club" at an early age. I was also the girl who loved sports, competition and some adventure. That meant you needed to be able to move around comfortably and not to be afraid to get a little dirty; sometimes I wonder how I got a career in fashion. Now and then I will put on a dress and heels, regardless of what you normally wear, there is always a time to play dress up.

CAMEL COATS

WEARING: H&M Coat, Zara Sweater, 7 For All Mankind Jeans, Adidas Sneakers, Rachael Ruddick Bag, Ray-Ban Aviator Sunnies, Breda Watch, Galisfly Rings & 8 Other Reasons Rings.

If you haven't introduced some camel into your closet, this is the time to do it. As requested by some of my readers I am showing a different look, demonstrating how-to wear camel. This neutral tone is here to stay & definitely a must this winter. Whether you are wearing it to work or for a special occasion, the camel colored coat looks great teamed up with other neutrals such as white, black, grey or navy. If you love bold colors go for some purple, reds and even orange. A winter wardrobe staple no doubt: it is classic, chic and cool - just how I like it! Hope you will give it a try, camel coats are no longer exclusive to luxury brands, you can get your own for a reasonable price now.

GREY MOMENT

WEARING: Max Mara Dress and Jacket, Alexander Wang Mia Bag and Heels.

If we were to run into each other on the street any given day of the week, 6 times out of 7 you'll find me in black. I will admit - sometimes, black gets a little repetitive. On those days I go for white or grey usually, or a mix of the three. If I'm feeling adventurous, there will be some camel or navy; I know, a real risk taker. Today I had one of those "I don't want to wear black" moments and decided on an all light grey look; if the whole head-to-toe outfit is a bit much for you, try just one grey piece. It works really well mixed with black, navy and looks beautiful paired-back with white. It is a versatile colour that usually doesn't get much play in our wardrobes. Textures show- up so much better in grey than in black, keep these tips in mind when you want to mix grey in your closet.

NEW YEAR: MIDFULNESS

I hope that you have had a great start to the new year! I decided not to do a list of resolutions for 2016, instead I want to work on my mindfulness. Maintaining an awareness of my thoughts, feelings, sensations and surroundings; being more present and worrying less. Having a less cluttered, focused mind tends to provide more room for structured thought, and to be open to opportunities. I want to try and not sweat the small stuff, navigate stressful situations more gracefully; being aware of solutions rather than focusing on frustrations and doubts. In today’s busy lifestyle, finding mindfulness is a goal worth having and returning to a more centred self can only be helpful. These photos were taken with my iPhone 6, my last trip of 2015. I went to the mountains to enjoy nature and to do something outside my comfort zone. Here is to a mindful year ahead and to the courage of trying new things!
